Havering Intervention & Prevention
Havering Council has funded Spark2Life since 2013 to work with their Medium to High Risk young people, aged 14-18 years old. The programmes support young people to make positive and informed choices regarding their future. This project was phased in over 3 years:
Year 1 – Raising Awareness (Prevention)
A Spark2life worker goes into schools and PRUs, delivering assemblies and group-mentoring sessions on gang awareness. They challenge the young people to think about how they can be groomed without even realising it. The sessions are similar to those we run in our short term contracts. Find out more about it here
Year 2/3 – A Bespoke Programme about Gang Culture (Intervention)
Our intervention programme works with young people that are on Intensive Supervision Support (ISS) and Youth Rehabilitation Order (YRO) orders. It follows a similar model to our work in Waltham Forest (more information can be found here). Our workers meet with the clients and assist them in gaining access to education, employment and training.
